Frequently Asked Questions
Who is behind Lit Alerts?
A dispensary owner, an online marketing executive, a technology leader, and a software operator. If you’d like to find out more about the background click here.
How do you source and generate the market data in the tool??
The analytics throughout the Lit Alerts tool rely on publicly available data on cannabis retailer online menus. Our technology analyzes and produces a directional dataset that predict activities happening in market. This dataset does not leverage or integrate with POS providers or other inventory management solutions, and should not be used as actuals for financial reporting purpose.
We crawl publicly available data from retail menus and utilize a proprietary mechanism to analyze that data to predict events that are happening in the market, like product availability and estimated sales. This is not POS data and is not meant to represent or replace it, but rather to be used as a guide to help brands and retailers better understand the market and gain helpful insights to sell more products.
Use it as a compass, not a GPS.
What states do you currently offer market data?

I called the buyer at a store and told them I received an out of stock alert from Lit Alerts and they claimed they have more in stock. Why did that happen?
A reminder that this is estimated data. We think we get pretty damn close but there will be times that the Lit Alerts system generates an out of stock, when in fact all is needed is a restock. Much of this is all aboutIt’s all in how you approach the retailers. Hey i’m just giving you a call to see how product is doing (knowing that in our tool they are probably close to needing a reorder), but if they say we are good still have a bunch in the back. Feel free to report anything back to us and we’ll be sure to investigate on our side and give you the honest truth about what our system can and can’t do
There are certain delivery menus that are missing! Why?
These locations rely on in-store inventory or share inventory with a retail location that is currently covered in the Lit Alerts tool. If we were to list these menus separately it would introduce a wide range of variables that we are prioritizing accounting for at this time.
