We appreciate Jason Reposa for having our CEO Rick Bashkoff on the High Functioning Podcast and for including this great “This or That” segment in the discussion.
And yes, Rick said it. He doesn’t think terpenes matter to customers. He hopes they do in the future but today if you start talking to the average customer about terpenes and how they effect you differently, you’re either:
1. Losing them right out the gate because they didn’t come to the store for a chemistry lesson, or
2. Making assumptions based off the same terpenes poster/graphic everyone bought/downloaded in 2019.
Rick’s opinion is that the science will eventually show that terpenes don’t have consistent effects across individuals or even consumer groups. Like most things in life, you’ll need to try a bunch of different products before you find your terpene or terpenes that work for you. And what works for you will most likely be a combination of the chemical compounds in the strain, the post harvest processing and an individual consumer’s physiology and mindset.
