Earlier this week we launched the initial Brand Power Rankings in New York for February 2026 with the Cultivated Media team. Borrowing from the NFL’s power rankings, this list aims to track overall brand performance on a monthly basis to see who is holding strong, who is tracking upward and who is tracking downward. Beginning next month you’ll begin to see simple symbols to the right of each brand showing their movement from the previous month. New brands in the rankings will be highlighted with a star icon. We incorporated ongoing feedback from our customers to build a formula that best represented what we hear at the ground level. To calculate this ranking, Lit Alerts used a weighted index that balances market dominance with retail health and pricing strategy. Looking at the prior months data, the formula integrates estimated unit sales volume and estimated dollar value to assess overall demand, while factoring in share of shelf, distribution points and the frequency of product discounts. We hope to launch more of these power rankings in different states and for specific categories in 2026.
